This event is a part of the Homesteading Series. This series, hosted by ASPI and presented by Lee and Jennifer Ruff (of End of the Road Farm, Climax, KY), encourages regenerative and sustainable practices that promote resiliency and interconnectedness. Homesteaders and non-homesteaders are all welcome to join! We encourage any level of experience (or lack of) to join! These events are free and family friendly.
This particular topic Is about saving seeds and how doing so can make your farm more resilient. Local seeds are familiar with our microclimate, and thus better adapted and more likely to survive things our microclimate undergoes. You will learn all about seeds – from how to collect them, how to properly clean and store, how to avoid cross pollinating seeds, how to manage garden planning, and so much more.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Events may be indoor or outdoor (or both) depending on the weather and topic. They normally last 1-2 hours. Snacks are normally provided.
We encourage you to bring in some seeds for a seed swap!
